“There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.” - Victor Hugo
Restitution has many powerful ideas that have the potential to change individuals, classrooms, families, schools, and entire systems.
Joel has been teaching since 1986 in a variety of different assignments. When his paradigm shifted from external control psychology to intrinsic control in 2000, it has made all the difference. It has moved him from being a stressed, dissatisfied teacher to one who can believe that his presence in the classroom can impact on the lives of young people. It has altered his role as enforcer and punisher to one that can strengthen people. Incorporating the elements of Restitution has rekindled his belief and passion for education.
Joel has been facilitating workshops on Restitution since 2002 and has presented in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. His multi-media presentations and “stories from the classroom” help teachers to understand and apply Restitution into their personal and professional lives.
Joel believes that Restitution is an idea whose time has come and is needed by our colleagues in the schools. |
